Many people told us how beautiful Big Sur is. And it sure was no exaggeration. A very windy, rugged and hilly coastal road winds its way along steep cliffs that fall hundreds of feet into the blue-turquoise ocean underneath. Some very lucky people even get to live on those cliffs. There were some amazing houses, built right on the edge of the land, high above the stormy seas.
There is also a large number of Monarch butterflies in the area, as this is one of their wintering spots. Pretty neat to see so many of them flying around everywhere! Apparently, there are even more ahead of us, in Pismo Beach.
We got some rain on the way tomorrow, but then it is going to be all sunshine and butterflies again! :)
Martin, a fellow cyclist from GB, for saving our dinner one night by handing us some veggies! Those were extra good!
